官方設定保持了最大的模糊性：帝皇的真名從未揭露。GW 刻意讓這個問題無解。但 lore 給出幾個共識：
Official canon keeps his identity deliberately vague — his true name is never revealed. GW maintains this as a fundamental mystery. But lore gives some consensus points:
誕生於西元前約 8,000 年Born around 8,000 BC

At the end of the Age of Strife, as Warp storms cut off the galaxy, the Emperor emerged from hiding to begin his great project.
地球統一戰爭Unification Wars

Horus — the Emperor\'s beloved son and Warmaster of the Crusade — was corrupted by the Chaos Gods and turned half the Legions against their father. After 5 years of civil war, the final battle took place on Terra.
地球圍城戰的結局End of the Siege of Terra

- 原本用途：Original purpose: 連接 網道 (艾達翹曲迷路網) 的人類版裝置，帝皇的最後未完成計畫。A prototype human Webway gate — the Emperor\'s unfinished final project.
- 現在用途：Current purpose: 僅存唯一能保住帝皇殘軀的生命維持系統。The only life-support system that can keep his ruined body alive.
- 運作機制：Mechanism: 靠 每日犧牲約 1,000 名靈能者 來維持──這些 psyker 的靈魂能量被燃燒輸入系統。Powered by ~1,000 psychic sacrifices per day — their souls burned as fuel.
- 結果：Result: 帝皇維持活著，但肉身為腐爛的骷髏狀態。不能開口、不能動，只能用意志作用。Keeps him alive — but as a rotting skeleton. Unable to speak or move; only his will acts.
- 衰敗中：Failing: 王座 10,000 年後已接近崩壞。機械神教盡力維修，但無人知道原始技術，只能用原始備件拼湊。After 10,000 years, the Throne is close to failure. The Mechanicus maintains it but no one knows the original technology — they cannibalise spare parts.
黃金王座同時做三件事：(1) 維持帝皇的肉身；(2) 發射 Astronomican (星際導航燈塔)；(3) 封印 Terra 下方一個 未完成的 Webway 入口──這個入口若失封，整個翹曲會湧入地球。
The Throne does three things simultaneously: (1) keeps the Emperor\'s body alive; (2) broadcasts the Astronomican across the galaxy; (3) seals an unfinished Webway portal beneath Terra — if it ever fails, Chaos floods the planet.

For 10,000 years, the Emperor has not spoken. His body rots on the Throne, but his will clearly functions — the Astronomican still broadcasts. But what about his mind?

Guilliman afterwards says something like "Father is not as I remember him". The interpretation is one of 40K\'s biggest mysteries.
與混沌的關係Relationship with Chaos

In the Warp, the Emperor is the antithesis of the Chaos Gods — guardian of human souls, shield against Chaos. Their relationship:
